About this guide
Øresund Bridge FAQ is a compact editorial guide to one of northern Europe’s busiest fixed links: the road and rail connection across the Øresund strait between Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden.
Our mission
Hundreds of thousands of drivers meet the same handful of practical questions: what will the crossing cost, how do I pay, which class is my vehicle, and what should I know before I set off? This guide collects those questions in one place and answers them in plain English, without marketing language and without pretending to be the operator.
What this guide covers
Prices and classes
How the toll is structured, what vehicle classes mean in practice and where discounts usually apply.
Tickets and payment
Paying at the plaza, registering an electronic tag, and how to obtain a receipt for expenses.
Vehicles and rules
Trailers, caravans, vans, motorhomes and heavy vehicles — and the rules attached to each of them.
Travel and traffic
Peak hours, roadworks, wind restrictions and how to check the current service status.
Editorial principles
- Clarity first. Explanations are written for a reader who is driving tomorrow, not for a reader who wants legal text.
- No imitation of official sources. We never present our pages as if they came from the bridge operator or from a public authority.
- No invented facts. Where a figure or a rule can change, we say so and point to the source that decides it.
- No advertising dressed as advice. Nothing on this site is paid placement, and we do not sell crossings.
Independence and limitations
This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the operator of the Øresund Bridge, nor for any Danish or Swedish authority. We do not sell tickets, we cannot issue receipts and we cannot influence prices, traffic management or border procedures.
